Founded in 1945 by Mr. Alessandro Rossi and Mr. Riva, Rivarossi has produced a wide range of HO and N Scale steam and diesel locos, as well as passenger and freight cars for the American market. In recent years, the firm has manufactured the former Lima line of N Scale equipment. Hornby acquired the assets of Rivarossi in 2005 and plans to re-introduce select models in 2006.
