| Expand Operations with Latest BethGon Coalporter™ Six-Packs Milwaukee, Wis. - Walthers announces the addition of five new schemes for the HO Scale Bethgon Coalporter under its Gold Line™ series. These fully assembled sixpacks will be available in October 2007.
A recent innovation in coal gondola technology, the Bethgon Coalporter gondola can be seen on railroads across the country, with more than 10,000 cars in service. Built by Bethlehem Steel's Johnstown American Corporation, the Bethgon features all-aluminum construction and a unique trough-style bottom for added carrying capacity. Because there are no discharge chutes on the bottom of the car, these cars are unloaded strictly by rotary dump.
These HO Scale Gold Line freight cars come ready to run and each features a different number. Included is a complete set of add-on wire grab irons with molded drill starter points on the body to simplify installation. The cars are sharply detailed, with the authentic trough bottom and a hidden weight for better operation. Working knuckle couplers and free-rolling trucks with RP-25 metal wheelsets round out each car.
