Milwaukee, Wis. - Realistic modern grade crossings are easy to create with Walthers new Post-60s Cantilever Signal. This layout-ready signal is the latest addition to the Cornerstone Series® line of working lights and signals. The operating HO Scale model is scheduled to arrive in November 2007.
With wider lanes and faster moving vehicles, modern highways required a different type of warning signal at railway crossings. New signals featured a cantilever design to extend additional flashing lights above the traffic lanes as well as at the side of the road, making it much easier for motorists to see the warning signals. During the 1960s the design was modified from tubular to truss-style supports.
Walthers Post-60s Cantilever Signal is fully assembled and easy to connect to existing wiring. This realistic railroad signal features long-life micro LED lights that face both directions. It's easy to animate with the addition of the Crossing Signal Controller (#933-2307, $34.98, sold separately). Detection circuitry in the controller activates the signals for a single track on a standard DC layout. Complete hook-up instructions are provided.
The Post-60s Cantilever Signal, #933-2314, retails for $24.98 and will be available in November 2007. It's a great addition to any modern-era layout.
