Modern Water Tower
Modern Water Tower Offers Refreshing Authenticity

Milwaukee, Wis. - Walthers announces the addition of the Modern Water Tower, the latest Cornerstone Series® structure kit for N Scale layouts. This new kit will arrive in May 2007.

Water towers are a common sight in every city. Years ago, wooden construction and attached windmills were the order of the day. But those have long since been replaced by modern, metal monoliths in all shapes and sizes. Walthers Modern Water Tower is based on the “ball on a stick” design found in small towns around the globe.

A rather simple device, the water tower holds approximately one day’s worth of water. When area pumps need help meeting demand or fail altogether, gravity takes over and the reserve water in the tank automatically enters the system. To maintain line pressure, towers are typically located on high ground.

Present-day water towers come in many different colors and paint schemes. More reserved communities often choose light blue or off-white to blend with the sky, decorating them only with the town name or a civic message. Others opt for more daring schemes, like a peach or eight-ball, or the ever-popular smiley face. Ultimately, the water tower reflects the way a community wants to be viewed.

The model features highly detailed realistic weld lines, plus an access door and overflow pipe details at the base of the tower. Decals signs are included. The N Scale Modern Water Tower #933-3814 retails for $17.98 and is scheduled to arrive in May 2007.
