Operating Oil Pump
New Working Oil Pump Animates N Scale Layouts

Milwaukee, Wis. - Walthers announces the addition of the Operating Oil Pump to its Cornerstone Series® Built-Ups line. This N Scale model is scheduled to arrive in May 2007.

Nodding at a regular rhythm, pumpjacks hoist oil or gas to the surface from deep inside the earth. Most wells across the U.S. don’t have enough pressure to drive the oil to the surface without a pump. The walking beam or “horsehead” is a common pump style seen across the countryside, singly or in groups. The nickname comes from the horse’s head shape at the front of the beam.

Designed from the ground up to be a working model, this weathered and fully assembled pump has a hidden drive with a slow speed motor and gearbox that simulate the steady motion of the real thing. The design is typical of those in use since the 1920s. It features a detailed stationary diesel power plant, walking beam, rear crank and counterweight along with the horsehead front counterweight. For added realism, there is a chain link fence with a positionable gate. This operating model makes a great addition to any fuel industry scene.

The Operating Oil Pump #933-2614 retails for $79.98 and is scheduled to arrive in May 2007. For more information or to locate a dealer, visit Walthers on the Internet at www.walthers.com. Call 414-527-0770 or write Walthers, P.O. Box 3039, Milwaukee, WI 53201-3039.
