Milwaukee, Wis. - Walthers announces the arrival of the 30-Seat Parlor Car "_Valley" Series #190-197, the second of ten authentic HO Scale Milwaukee Road cars. Based on a typical 1955 Twin Cities Hiawatha consist these new cars are being produced especially for Walthers 75th Anniversary.
Milwaukee Road's Hiawatha parlor cars were some of the most luxurious on the tracks. Passengers enjoyed large comfortable seats that reclined and rotated so they could enjoy conversation with nearby passengers or simply relax and watch the countryside roll past. Originally built in 1948 and featuring appealing names like Maple Valley, Pleasant Valley and Spring Valley, the "_Valley" series cars contained 30 individual seats and a drawing room.
This superbly detailed car is equipped with factory-installed electrical pickups, diecast knuckle couplers and correct eight-foot wheelbase Nystrom trucks with RP-25 wheels. It is handsomely painted in Milwaukee's distinctive maroon and orange colors and comes complete with car name and number decals. The car features the correct prototype length and underbody detail so a minimum 24" radius is recommended for operation.
The 30-Seat Parlor Car "_Valley" Series #190-107 (#932-9205) retails for $44.98 each and will be available in December 2007. Additional Hiawatha cars and PROTO 2000 E7 Milwaukee Road locomotives will be arriving in the coming months.
