Walthers announces the addition of the Freight Office and Freight House to its Cornerstone Series® line of kits. These structures were designed especially for Walthers new Hiawatha.

Fast Facts: Milwaukee Road's popular Hiawatha passenger train brought great recognition to the railroad but its real moneymaker was freight. Companies who didn't have their own transfer facilities relied on the railroad to move their goods from trains to trucks for delivery to stores and warehouses. The freight office served as the "brains" of the operation, handling the organizational duties and paperwork. At the freight house, cargo was unloaded and transferred to the waiting delivery vans and trucks.

Features: Walthers Freight Office and Freight House kits are based on structures situated near Milwaukee's hometown depot. Their classic American design is similar to buildings in many other cities making both models ideal for use in any city terminal or as part of a large industry. Authentic Milwaukee Road signs are included in the Freight Office kit. Special end walls in the Freight House allow modelers to easily combine kits to create a larger facility. These easy-to-build kits have detailed plastic parts and come with illustrated instructions. Individually or combined, they're a great accessory for Walthers Hiawatha train.
