Hiawatha Railway Post Office
Walthers Delivers Hiawatha Railway Post Office

Walthers announces the arrival of the Railway Post Office cars #2152-2153, the fourth of ten authentic HO Scale Milwaukee Road cars. Based on a typical 1955 Twin Cities Hiawatha consist these new cars are being produced especially for Walthers 75th Anniversary. Additional Hiawatha cars and PROTO 2000 E7 diesels will be arriving in the coming months.

Fast Facts: The Milwaukee Road held the mail contract between Chicago and the Twin Cities, and when the Hiawatha fleet was upgraded in 1947, two full Railway Post Office cars were built for the Morning Hiawatha. Numbered 2152 and 2153, the cars were later assigned to pool service.

Features: Like other cars in Walthers Hiawatha series, the latest model comes with factory-installed electrical pickups, diecast knuckle couplers and correct eight-foot wheelbase Nystrom trucks with RP-25 wheels. The car is handsomely painted in Milwaukee's distinctive maroon and orange colors, and car number decals are included to model either of the prototypes. An undecorated version is also available. The cars feature correct prototype length and underbody detail so a minimum 24" radius is recommended for operation.
