Thrall All-Door Boxcars

Thrall All-Door Boxcars Are Perfect Additions to Lumber-Service Car Fleets

Walthers announces new roadnames for its Gold Line™ 56' Thrall All-Door Boxcars. Favorites of the lumber industry in the 1960s, 70s and 80s, these models will be welcome additions to any railroad set in the 1960s and later.

Fast Facts: Introduced in the 1960s, these unique all-door boxcars protected loads from weather and theft, while the 25' door opening allowed easy access for forklifts. The cars became a common sight at lumber mills and yards across America during the 1970s housing boom. A great car for period freights, they can still be seen in service today.

Features: These ready-to-run cars are packed with detail and are painted for a variety of private owners and railroads. Each includes a complete set of add-on wire grab irons; molded drill starter points on the body simplify installation. Proto MAX™ metal knuckle couplers and free-rolling trucks with RP-25 metal wheelsets round out each car.
