Walthers announces new roadnumbers for HO Scale Gold Line Bethgon Coalporters. The cars are available in six-packs with six different roadnumbers in each pack so modelers can run long trains with no repeated numbers.
Fast Facts: Bethgon Coalporter gondolas have been in service on railroads across the continent since the 1990s. More than 10,000 cars are in service between coal mines, power plants and other industrial users. Built by Bethlehem Steel's Johnstown American Corporation, the Bethgon features all-aluminum construction and a unique trough-style bottom for added carrying capacity. Because there are no discharge chutes on the bottom of the car, these cars are unloaded strictly by rotary dump.
Features: These Gold Line cars come ready to run and each features a different number. Paint schemes complement previous releases allowing modelers to realistically assemble longer trains with no repeated car numbers. The cars are sharply detailed, with the authentic trough bottom and a hidden weight for better operation. The two end cars in each set are equipped with a Proto-MAX™ metal knuckle coupler on one end. Non-operating scale-sized knuckle couplers are mounted on the rest of the car ends to reduce slack in long unit trains. Free-rolling trucks with RP-25 metal wheels round out each car.
