Walthers is pleased to announce its latest run of EMD E7s includes units detailed for the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy. Working with members of the Burlington Route Historical Society, the HO Scale models will feature authentic early details, and for the first time on a PROTO 2000® model, a plated metal finish that simulates the stainless steel of the prototypes.
Additional Burlington-specific features will include large and small forward-facing airhorns, the signature "air intake" grilles printed in red on the nose, working Mars light, larger exhaust stacks, the distinctive spark arrestor on the steam generator exhaust, a blanked panel covering the air intake on the fireman's side of the cab, correct open pilot, E7 model plate printed on the cab sides, full nose grabs, partial fuel and water tank skirts, plus a painted silver underframe and trucks.
The models include all of the standard features on PROTO 2000 E7s, including an improved drive with helical gears for ultra quiet and smooth operation, easy multiple-unit operation, a powerful five-pole skew-wound, high-torque, high-efficiency can motor, painted metal lift rings and hand rails, see-through grilles, authentic bulldog nose, detailed trucks, Proto MAX™ metal knuckle couplers and much more. Both Sound & DCC as well as Standard DC versions will be available:
