Walthers announces a variety of new paint schemes and roadnumbers for Platinum Line International Steel Bay Window Cabooses. These colorful cabooses come ready to run with all details installed.

Fast Facts: As railroads began replacing aging cabooses with new cars in the late 1940s and 50s, many turned to bay window cars. The side-mounted bays offered a better view of the train ahead, and reduced injuries, as crews no longer had to climb into the cupola. On many roads, these cars remained in use (some are still in service today) until the 1980s.

Features: Walthers Bay Window Cabooses are based on cars built by International Car Company. Buyers could choose from standard designs, then specify optional equipment to meet their needs. While the cars were outwardly similar, these variations gave them unique features. To capture these important details, the models come with one of three different types of roof, ends and bay windows. In addition, each car comes from the factory with a full interior, all grabs and details installed, plus metal wheelsets, die cast PROTO-Max™ knuckle couplers and superb paint and lettering.
