Energy Center is a Key Structure in the North American Ethanol Series
Walthers announces the arrival of the Cornerstone® Energy Center. This HO Scale North American Ethanol series kit is based on a structure that produces a valuable coproduct of the ethanol making process.
Fast Facts: The production of ethanol, a type of alcohol used in motor fuel blends is big business. Its use in gasoline blends reduces gas emissions and lessens dependence on foreign oil. Ethanol plants produce two main products: ethanol that is shipped in tank cars, and distillers dried grains (DDG), a protein-rich coproduct used in animal feed. Inside, the energy center DDG is dried in rotary kilns, emerging as small pellets. The finished DDG is fed by conveyor to an enclosed storage shed until it's loaded into covered hoppers and shipped to animal feed producers.
Features: The Energy Center kit includes the main structure with a canopied DDG truck loading area, stack, DDG conveyor piping and appropriate tanks. While based on a DDG processing plant, this kit also looks at home at a modern brickworks, wallboard plant, recycling facility, modern produce packing plant and at other industries where bulk materials are stored/offloaded by trucks and wheel loaders under an outside canopy and moved inside for processing.
