Walthers is pleased to announce Stuckey's® - the newest addition to our Cornerstone® Built-ups line. This officially licensed model comes fully assembled and decorated.
Fast Facts: In the early 1930s W. S. Stuckey, Sr. opened a roadside stand in Georgia to sell a bumper crop of pecans to the growing number of motorists. Soon he added homemade pecan candies created by his wife, Mrs. Ethel Stuckey. Her Pecan Log Rolls were a big hit with travelers and the small pecan stand grew into 350-plus stores. By the 1960s, Stuckey's was a roadside icon - the must-stop place for travelers to "relax, refresh, refuel." Motorists could take a break, purchase souvenirs and candies, enjoy a hot snack, refuel their cars and more, all in one stop. After merging with Pet Milk, Stuckey's fell into decline by the late 1970s. But in 1985, W. S. Stuckey, Jr. repurchased the chain and there are now approximately 200 franchise stores in 19 states and Stuckey's pecans are available for sale in almost 5,000 grocery stores across the country.
Features: This officially licensed model features authentic design and details based on a 1960s-era prototype. It is fully assembled and decorated with factory-applied signs, awnings on the side windows and decorative roof support posts. A separate gas pump island with canopy and sign is included. This layout-ready model is ideal for 1960s and later layouts. The main building measures 6 x 3-5/8 x 2-3/4" 15 x 9.2 x 6.9cm and the gas pump island with canopy and sign measures 2-1/2 x 2-3/8 x 2-1/2" 6.2 x 6 x 6.4cm.
