The Northern Pacific "Holiday Lounge" parlor-bar-lounge cars were delivered by Pullman-Standard in 1954-56. NP cars 492-493 were assigned to "Coast Pool Trains" #407-408 in 1954 and NP 487-491 arrived in 1956 for the streamlined "Mainstreeter" trains #1-2. After these feature cars were removed from service on the "Mainstreeter" in 1962, they were converted to long-haul coaches 581-585. The other pair of cars remained in service between Seattle and Portland on the coast pool trains through the early Amtrak months.
