For the 1947 refit of the Milwaukee's "Olympian Hiawatha," six "Falls" series Touralux-Coaches were built in the road's home shops, with eight section sleeping spaces and 32 coach seats. The cars were originally named and numbered as #5770 "Sioux Falls," #5771 "Chippewa Falls," #5772 "Granite Falls," #5773 "Crystal Falls," #5774 "Metaline Falls," and #5775 "Cannon Falls."
The cars were withdrawn from regular assignment to this train in 1948 and used for extra service until 1951-52 when #5770, 5771 and 5773 were rebuilt to "Mountain" series 14-section Touralux sleepers. The three remaining cars were converted to 550-series chair cars.
A great addition to Milwaukee streamliners, these sides are designed for use with American Limited Models #147-8010 or #8020 Core Kits.
