Former German Army WWII Horse-Drawn Transport (Resin Kit)

Hf7 Stahlfeldwagen (steel field cart/company wagon) pkg(2)
Walthers Part # 323-570, p. 658 Walthers 2012 HO Scale Reference
HO scale, $23.99, not currently in stock at Walthers, Expected: Spec. Ord.

Although mechanized divisions filled the propaganda films, the German army depended heavily on horse-drawn supply wagons throughout WWII.

Built as a general transport the all-steel Hf 7 was a modern, durable design that rode on pneumatic tires. But its enormous weight, up to two tons fully loaded, earned it the nickname "horse killer" as it was simply too heavy for the usual two-horse team -- period photos often show infantrymen assisting the horses. They are also seen being towed by slow-speed vehicles such as the Raupenschlepper Ost (Crawler Tractor East).

NOTE: Kit includes parts for horse drawbar, but no horses. Trailer towbar for vehicle towing is also included.
