These Express Cars Ran Coast to Coast
Following WWII railroads were offered surplus troop cars at bargain
prices. The cars were essentially 50' boxcars on high-speed passenger
trucks making them ideal for conversion to express boxcars. Railroads
converted the cars for express freight service and operated them at the
head end of their passenger trains. The cars ran across the continent on
many railroads, so they're perfect for your postwar passenger trains.
