Canadian National purchased six surplus cars from the Milwaukee Road in the mid-1960s for use on the Super Continental and Panorama trains, offering an unparalleled view of the Canadian wilderness. VIA Rail Canada assumed operation of CN passenger trains in 1977 and were repainted into VIA's blue scheme in the late 70s and early 80s.
