Product Information

Pullman-Standard built 19 of these 56-seat cars for the pre-war "Challenger" Streamliner that ran between Chicago and Los Angeles, and San Francisco. UP owned 11 cars, #5200-5211, while CNW had seven, #6160-6166. Between 1946 and 1954, the UP cars were converted to club lounge cars numbered between 1502 and 1523.

These sides are based on Lot 6510 Plan 7386 cars, which had the nurse's room next to the ladies lounge, and accurately depict the prototype's window proportions and overall length of 78' 10", with full skirting and equipment access doors.

Because of the scale length, these sides require shortening any currently available core kits or ready-to-run plastic cars: Brass Car Sides #173-101 or Train Station Products #732-807 Pullman-Standard core kits, both sold separately, can be used as a starting point.
