Introduced in 1964, the SD35 offered railroads with a high horsepower, 6-axle unit that quickly found a niche in fast freight service. Some 343 were built before production ended in 1966, and included both high and low hood versions, as well as a steam generator equipped model (the SDP35) intended for both freight and passenger service. This latest Atlas Master series engine will come equipped with the HO Dual-Mode Decoder pre-installed. Engines will be available in both low and high nose versions as well as the dual service SDP35.
