This InterMountain Railway Co. Paducah GP10 is based on units rebuilt by Illinois Central and Illinois Central Gulf at its Paducah, Kentucky, shop complex. The railroad took worn-out EMD GP7 and GP9 diesels and rebuilt them using new and remanufactured internal components. The railroad performed similar rebuilds for other railroads and upon retirement by IC and ICG hundreds were sold on the used locomotive market. In 2017 there are still many of these long-lived diesels in use. This model features a smooth-running mechanism with dual flywheels, roadname-specific details including Horst air filters, frog-eye headlights and more, plus fine decoration and magnetic knuckle couplers. This Paducah GP10 is equipped with a factory-installed DCC decoder.
