Express reefers were designed to haul perishable goods to market fast. Normally operated at the front of passenger trains, GACX 53' 6" wood refrigerator cars were the most commonly used cars in the U.S.from the 30s through the 50s. These ready-to-run models feature a plastic body with metal wheels and axles, 2 operating knuckle couplers, operating doors and factory applied hand grabs. All cars can be operated on code 70, 83 and 100 track.
