Just two months after the order was placed in late April of 1917, the first United States Railroad Administration (USRA)-designed light 2-8-2 rolled out of the Baldwin Works. This modern and powerful loco quickly proved itself and 625 were built before the end of USRA control in 1920. The design continued to grow in popularity and was widely copied, eventually swelling the ranks to 1266 locos that served over 50 railroads.
These detailed replicas features working knuckle couplers on the loco pilot and rear of tender. All models also include an add-on driver set with traction tires for greater pulling power.
