These modern prototypes pack 4000 horsepower into a single unit and serve primarily in high-speed intermodal service. Due to their speed capabilities, a passenger version was also built for Amtrak. (These engines are ideal for use with Walthers intermodal equipment, plus Amfleet and Horizon Fleet passenger cars.) This detailed engine has all the features that modelers look for in a quality locomotive.
