These modern prototypes pack 4000 horsepower into a single unit and serve primarily in high-speed intermodal service. Due to their speed capabilities, a passenger version was also built for Amtrak. (These engines are ideal for use with Walthers intermodal equipment, plus Amfleet and Horizon Fleet passenger cars.)
