In February 1941 the first run of Electroliners were advertised as
America's first "All Electric Luxury Trains". Their unique design was
influenced by the competition between CNWs 400 trains and Milwaukee Road's
Hiawathas. Another factor was that the trains had to circumnavigate
Chicago's EL tracks in the Loop and run down the middle of Milwaukee city
streets. Electroliners were later sold to the city of Philadelphia and
renamed Liberty Liners. One train was totally restored and is on exhibit at
the Illinois Train Museum in Union, Illinois.
Con-Cor's 4-car Electroliner sets feature the turquoise and salmon color
scheme. An undecorated version is also available for customizing.
