From the late 1930s to the present day, the SW-1 has a proven track record as one of the most successful switches ever built. Their small size makes them ideal for all types of heavy industries that require a reliable, in-plant loco to keep rail cars moving.
 
Both front and rear trucks are powered and a heavy diecast frame (model weighs 11 ounces) insures plenty of pulling power. A skew-wound, five-pole can motor with dual flywheels and all-wheel electrical pick-up insures smooth operation at any speed. Each is painted and lettered, with a basic cab interior, window "glass," working headlight and a complete set of add-on handrails.
 
For easy superdetailing, starter points are molded on the body to drill mounting holes for wire grab irons, sold separately.
