Easy Upgrade for Express Service
From 1925 to the late 1960s, B60b baggage cars could be found on the head-end of many trains. While it was a distinctly Pennsy design, the cars were part of the Railway Express Agency pool and were frequent visitors on railroads all over America, moving bulk mail and express shipments. Some were equipped as messenger cars, with facilities for a rider to accompany a shipment in transit, and were identified by a 6" gold star above the car number.
