Layout-Ready Crossing Towers In HO Scale

The Elevated Crossing Tower w/Gates is based on a typical prototype used by a variety of North American railroads. These towers housed a gateman who manually raised and lowered crossing gates to stop traffic when a train was coming. They were elevated so the gateman could see down the tracks over traffic and other low-level obstructions. Elevated towers were usually placed at busy grade crossings where frequent train moves required additional street traffic safeguards.

The built-up Elevated Crossing Tower includes the tower with stairway, tool storage chest, electrical box, two positionable nonoperating crossing gates, two 55-gallon drums, a trash can, a bucket and a figure. The Elevated Crossing Tower is available in three realistic color schemes that match other Built-ups trackside structures. It’s a great addition to any steam- or early diesel- era railroad.
