Painted UP Synthetic Red with white herald and lettering. They were built in 1951 at the UP Shops in Denver, CO. They ran from 1951 through the 1970s on Bettendorf trucks. Union Pacific constructed the F-50-15 flatcars by purchasing underframe castings from General Steel Castings in Granite City, IL. According to the 1966 ORER, by April 1975 only 364 cars of the series 51000-51500 remained in service.
