This Bachmann HO Scale Silver Series 55' Steel Steel Coil Car with Round Hoods is based on specialized freight cars designed for carrying rolls of sheet metal for industrial uses. Early examples first debuted in the 1960s, and today the cars are a common sight on freight trains across North America. Bachmann's 55' Steel Coil Car features removable coil hoods with detailed cradles beneath and six steel coils, accurate paint schemes, blackened metal wheels with RP25 contours for operation on Code 70 and larger rail, and body-mounted E-Z Mate(R) Mark II couplers.
