Notes on B&O 10-6 Sleepers
 
The Baltimore & Ohio had a pool of 14 "City" series 10-6 sleepers built to Pullman Plan #4167. The first 10, which are the prototypes of this model, were purchased as C&O scrambled to cancel its massive postwar car orders. B&O acquired them before construction had begun, and changed the specifications from fluted to smooth sides. Eight were assigned to the "Capitol Limited" from 1950 on.
 
An additional four cars, built to the original C&O specifications with fluted sides, were purchased second-hand in 1957, and are also available from WalthersProto.
