Introduced in the mid-1970s, these cars have been the backbone of the Amtrak fleet. Three paint schemes (called phases) have been used on both coach and food service cars. Our detailed models are fully assembled, ready to run and prepainted in Phase I, II, III and IV schemes and feature decals for car markings and numbers, improved inside bearing trucks with electrical pickup, tinted window "glass", complete underbody, separate grab irons and coupler pockets that accept Kadee(R) #5s. (Horn-hook couplers included).
PLEASE NOTE: As these cars are the correct prototype length and feature full underbody detail to match the prototypes, a minimum 24" radius is recommended for operation.
Wide red and blue stripes, and white pinstripes.
