Introduced in the 1960s and still going strong, these cars were purchased by many railroads and TXX for trailer-on-flat-car service. They're easily identified from similar flat cars by their steel channel sides. As trailer sizes increased, these cars were rebuilt into various "new" types. Our kit can be built in three versions: Standard, Twin 45 or Triple 28 using the hitches and other parts which are included. These cars use the same proven underframe design found on our Enclosed Auto Carriers, so they can be operated on small layouts with tight radius curves. Each kit also has a nearly full-length weight to improve tracking and performance.
