This Broadway Limited HO Scale Pennsylvania Railroad Class T1 4-4-4-4 Duplex steam locomotive is based on the fast, streamlined locomotives used on fast passenger runs. The Pennsylvania Railroad T1 4-4-4-4 may look and sound like an articulated steam locomotive, but it really was a rigid frame locomotive with a second pair of cylinders dividing the drivers, making it a duplex drive locomotive. The design was a successful one and after a trial of two locomotives, the PRR ordered 50 more. Our models represent the production locomotives, as they appeared in the 1950s. Available in both original and modified configurations, this model features full Paragon3 sound and DCC for realistic sound and motor control. The Paragon3 sound system works with all Broadway Limited Rolling Thunder(TM) advanced sound systems. Other features of this steam locomotive include a heavy die cast chassis, smooth-running flywheel-equipped drive, directional lighting, puffing smoke and magnetic knuckle couplers. This HO Scale T1 4-4-4-4 Duplex locomotive can be operated on all DCC systems as well as on standard DC railroads (with limited sound functionality). This model has wheels profiled to operate on Code 70 and larger rail and curves of 18" radius or larger. The Class T1 4-4-4-4 Duplex comes with roadnumber and era-appropriate details, as-built or modified streamlined body, tender and other details.
