Several Precision Craft diesel locomotives are offered as Lashed-Up or Lashup. These are multi-unit consists (A unit/B unit) in which the lead unit and trailing unit are tethered together via a user-detachable electrical connector. The electrical connection is required for operation of the second unit, but lead units may be operated by themselves. The electrical tether can be unplugged for transport or storage.
