EMD first built the MP15 in 1975 to fill the niche created by the retiring of GP7 and GP9 locos. Over 400 were built and most are still in service. This model features a 5-pole skewed armature motor, cab interior with painted engineer and fireman figures, cab lighting, factory-mounted handrails and upgraded printing.
