Introduced in the late 1980s by GE, Dash 8-40B diesels were identified by dynamic brakes located along the roof line between the cab and engine compartment, with engine ventilation provided by large roof-top grilles. These four-axle, high horsepower engines are still in service today in North America. Skillfully painted and crafted with precision and detail, Atlas O's true 1/4" scale models capture all the Dash 8-40B features. Equipped with the latest version of the popular Lionel TrainMaster Command and RailSounds 4.0 digital sound system, Atlas O's new top-of-the-line locomotive will add a "real-life" dimension to your railroad.
