This detailed Atlas HO Scale Master Gold EMD SD26 is based on units which began life as 2,400-horsepower SD24 diesel road units produced by EMD between July 1958 and March 1963. In the 1970s Santa Fe began a rebuilding program which ultimately saw 80 units rebuilt as 2,650-horsepower SD26s. the units remained in service until the late 1980s and a batch of units sold to Guilford-Springfield Terminal soldiered on into the 1990s and early 2000s. This Atlas model features details unique to each roadname and working ditch lights if appropriate. Other features include a five-pole skewed-armature motor with dual flywheels, directional LED lighting, all-metal magnetic knuckle couplers, accurate decoration and roadname-appropriate body phase details. Plenty of applied details and realistic decoration for both prototype and fantasy "what if" schemes round out the detailed models. The sound-ready SD26 comes equipped with a factory-installed speaker and DCC socket for easy decoder installation when you're ready. This EMD SD26 is one of many Atlas and Trainman HO Scale locomotives.
