When Southern Pacific and the Denver & Rio Grande Western had trouble with diesels overheating in long tunnels the solution was the unique Tunnel Motor. Ready-to-run Tunnel Motors come in both SD40T-2 and SD45T-2 models with either standard or long "Snoot" short hoods as appropriate.
