This Bowser Executive Line EMD SW1001 is based on end-cab diesel switchers introduced in 1968 and built through 1986. 230 EMD SW1001s were produced and many remain in service in the 2020s. The SW1001, with its lower height cab was an alternative to the SW1000. The SW1001 used EMD's 8-645E 1000HP prime mover. Primarily used in the United States, many did find homes in Canada, Guinea, South Korea, Mexico, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, and the UK. Where appropriate, this detailed model features LED Lighting, front and rear headlight, inspection lights, number boards, class lights, beacons, ditch lights, cab light, control stand gauges, coupler cut levers, MU hoses, air hoses, cab windows, cab interior, walkway tread, windshield wipers, lift rings, wire grab irons, metal knuckle couplers, a can motor, flywheels, all-wheel drive, all-wheel electrical pickup, and RP25 wheels.
