Whether called a cabin, waycar or crummy, the Atlas HO Scale Extended-Vision Caboose is based on steel cars that brought up the markers on trains coast to coast beginning in the 1960s. On these cars the cupola featured an extended-width, extending past the sides of the carbody, allowing crewmembers to see around the taller cars in operation in the postwar era. Each Extended-Vision Caboose features an injection-molded body, fine end railings, applied details and roofwalk as appropriate, accurate decoration, roller-bearing caboose trucks, metal wheels and all-metal magnetic knuckle couplers. Extended-Vision Cabooses were common sights on railroads from the late 1960s to the 1980s and a some are still in use for long switching and backup moves in 2020. This Extended-Vision Caboose is one of many Atlas HO Scale cabooses.
