Military - German Army WWII - Remote Control Mine (Resin Kit) -- Borgward IV A Radio-Guided Tracked Carrier

Product Information

Some of the most unusual German vehicles to see service in World War II were remote-controlled explosive/mine carriers. These devices allowed an explosive charge to be moved close to enemy positions while the crew remained some distance away. Both wire- and radio guided system were used.

Designed to deliver explosives without destroying the entire vehicle. This unit was driven into position then armed with an explosive charge on the front. The vehicle was directed to the target by radio-control, released its charge and backed a safe distance away before detonation. The Model A was built from May 1942 through June 1943, until superceded by the Model B, which was slightly heavier, had a different antenna location and improved radio gear.
