Product Information

As streamliners continued to grab public attention throughout the 1930s, Electro-Motive unveiled its sleek new E3 in 1939. Designed, built and marketed as a stock model (the first in the industry) the E3 made it easier, cheaper and faster for railroads to modernize passenger service. All models were powered by two 567A engines that produced 2000 horsepower, and shared the distinctively slanted nose. A change in the internal water tank layout resulted in the final version, the E6, which remained in production until early 1942.

With the correct "shovel nose" profile, working metal Kadee(R) couplers, road-specific details and more, this engine will look great at the head of any period passenger train.
