Without question the F series from EMD ranks among the most successful of all diesels. The F7 model was introduced in 1949 and served on virtually every American railroad, helping complete the transition from steam to diesel power. Equally at home in freight or passenger service, many remained in use until the 1980s. Both units in set are powered.
