In 1947 General Motors unveiled the streamlined F3 diesel locomotive. Just one year later, Lionel introduced its own version of this famous engine, the first diesel Lionel ever gambled to manufacture. One of the company's most memorable and best-selling locomotives ever, the Lionel F3 remained in the line until 1966.
