PRR T1 4-4-4-4 As-Delivered Version w/Sound & DCC - Paragon2(TM) -- Pennsylvania Railroad #5526

Product Information

Working with Baldwin, the Pennsylvania Railroad unveiled its first duplex drive passenger loco in 1939. Two improved versions followed in 1942 as class T1, sporting distinctive Raymond Lowey styling. Wartime shortages delayed further production, but PRR finally took delivery of 50 more of the big locos (produced by Baldwin and in-house at Altoona) in 1945-46, but all were retired by 1953.

Matching the as-built versions (later models are offered in the #187-5140 series) with full skirting and other distinct features, the locos are ready to run and feature accurate, prototypical sounds, synchronized puffing smoke with chuff sound, variable puffing smoke intensity and timing, integral DCC decoder with Back EMF, a precision drive mechanism engineered for continuous heavy load towing and smooth slow speed operation, a 5-pole can motor with skew wound armature, authentic paint, prototypical light operation with golden-white LED headlight, rear light, a detailed ABS body with heavy die cast chassis for maximum tractive effort, metal Kadee(R)-compatible couplers front and rear, all-driver drive and electrical pick-up, separately applied handrails, ladders, whistle, and brass bell and operating cab roof vents. Locos will operate on code 70, 83, and 100 rail, with a recommended minimum radius of 22 inches.
