Introduced in 1926 for the Milwaukee Road, some 242 Plan 3979A 8-1-2 sleepers were eventually constructed by Pullman. During the 1930s, these cars could be found in the consists of some of the nation's most prestigious trains, including the "Empire Builder," "Crescent Limited," "Olympian," "20th Century Limited" and the "Capitol Limited." This HO Scale conversion is designed for use with the Rivarossi (AHM or IHC cars can also be used) 12-1 Sleeper and includes the correct styles of windows and spacer panels to match the prototype design. Complete instructions provide prototype history, along with step-by-step instructions and scale drawings to speed construction. All parts are molded in gray styrene and are unpainted.
