The Rapido Trains HO Scale GMD FP9A diesels are based on the quintessential passenger diesel locomotives constructed by General Motors Diesel Division in London, Ontario from 1954 to 1958 for CN and CP. Successors and secondary owners have kept the classy units busy on passenger, commuter and excursion runs, and several are preserved in museums. Features of the super-detailed FP9A include roadname and era-specific details, directional headlights, metal grilles, lighted control stands, cab interior details and lighted numberboards and class lights. The smooth-running drive features dual flywheels and the model comes equipped with Macdonald-Cartier knuckle couplers compatible with all magnetic knuckle couplers.
This GMD FP9A locomotive is equipped with a sound and DCC decoder complete with sound files recorded from the prototype. Check out the schemes and variations of the Rapido HO Scale GMD FP9A models.
