Designed to haul heavy freight, the USRA Heavy 2-10-2 was the forgotten engine among the 12 USRA designs despite its impressive production totals. The 2-10-2 wheelbase design was copied by many other railroads who missed the original USRA production. Of the 344 USRA originals and copies, 130 of them were for the Pennsy and 125 for the Illinois Central. Considering copies built in later years and acquisitions through merger or purchase, it's not surprising that 2-10-2s could be found almost everywhere. Models feature factory mounted Micro-Trains couplers, tender-mounted, DCC-ready PC board and flywheel drive.
